Welcome to the Rakaia Medical Centre
The Rakaia Medical Centre is situated off State Highway 1 on Elizabeth Avenue in Rakaia, 28 kilometres from Ashburton and 53 kilometres from Christchurch.
We opened in June 2000, our purpose-built Medical Centre was funded by the Ashburton District Council. An extension to the building in early 2009 created a further Trauma Room, a Therapy Room, an Administration Office and a Staff Room.
In March 2004 the Rakaia Medical Centre Community Trust was formed to oversee the governance of the Medical Centre on behalf of the Rakaia Community.
Our experienced team of doctors, nurses and support staff are proud to offer a quality primary healthcare service to our enrolled population and visiting patients.
Our focus is to provide a sustainable, accessible and integrated health service; enabling people to maintain health, independence and wellness within their own community.
We warmly welcome enrolled, new and casual patients and are committed to providing excellent healthcare to all. We are proud to have such a strong affiliation with our community.
