Enrolling with Rakaia Medical Centre
Rakaia Medical Centre is a member of the Pegasus Primary Health Organisation which provides funding, subsidised care and special programmes for our Enrolled patients. The aim of this funding is to benefit and meet the health care needs of the local community.
Rakaia Medical Centre is committed to working with our community and providing you with excellent health care. We encourage our community to enrol with its local Practice to ensure you have continued access to essential local medical care right here in Rakaia.

- Free doctor appointments for children under 14
- Reduced prescription charges
- Free sexual health visits for patients under 21
- Reduced costs when you need extra time to talk to your doctor because you have a mental health issue

- Free acute packages of care where you may need to receive extended treatment and observation within the practice e.g. I.V. antibiotics for an infection
- Entry into all the screening programs associated with women’s health
- Free childhood immunisations
- Continuity of care within the practice, which means we are better able to meet your health needs in a timely and safe manner
How to Enrol with Rakaia Medical Centre
- Call in and collect an enrolment form from Reception or download our enrolment form – click on the above link.
- Please complete page 1 and 2 for each person wishing to enrol
- Return the completed form to the Practice and we will process your registration and request your medical notes from your present Practice
Please note: The Ministry of Health now requires proof of eligibility for all new enrolments, including NZ citizens. This can be in the form of a birth certificate, passport, Work/Visitor’s Visa, Community Card. Please speak with one of our Reception team for more information.
